Qualifications

Adam graduated from Bond University, Australia with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) in 2015. He then obtained a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the Queensland University of Technology, Australia (better known as QUT) and, in 2016, was admitted as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of Queensland. Later the same year, Adam joined Shelley Yap as a pupil and has served with the firm as an associate since 2017.

Areas Of Practices

Adam is primarily a litigator with experience in a range of commercial and civil matters including banking litigation, insurance law (in particular personal injury claims), debt recovery, enforcement of judgments, bankruptcy and claims for liquidated agreed damages. He regularly represents our firm’s institutional clients in courts throughout Sabah and Labuan and has personally handled appeals in the High Court and the Court of Appeal. In addition, he also drafts wills and handles estate law matters including applying for grants of probate as well as contentious probate cases.

Interests

In his spare time, Adam can usually be found gardening, reading or listening to factual podcasts. He also enjoys travelling, especially to places of historical significance.
