Qualifications
Peg Wei is a legal assistant in Shelley Yap. She holds a Diploma of Business, Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from Queensland University of Technology, Australia. In 2020, Peg Wei was admitted as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of Queensland. Before Peg Wei returned to Sabah, she practiced as a Conveyancing Lawyer in Brisbane. In 2021, Peg Wei joined Shelley Yap as a Chambering Student and in 2022, she was called to the High Court of Sabah and Sarawak as an Advocate.
Areas of Practice
Peg Wei’s practice in Brisbane has deepen her understanding of the practicalities in dealing with conveyancing matters. She is well trained in handling digital settlements via an electronic platform known as PEXA, and liaising with bankers in order to secure property settlements. As a result, Peg Wei recognises the flexibilities of handling conveyancing matters electronically especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. As an early career lawyer, Peg Wei takes every opportunity to learn more about different areas of law such as Litigation, Property & Real Estate, Wills, Personal Injury and Banking related matters. Peg Wei believes that her continuous learning will expand her legal knowledge and enrich her legal experience allowing her to become a well-rounded lawyer.
