Qualifications

Mortimer is a partner whose practice covers both litigation and conveyancing law. After completing a Bachelor of Laws with Honours at Staffordshire University in the United Kingdom, Mortimer spent several years working with various companies such as Kurnia Insurans Berhad and later at TM (Telekom Malaysia). During this period, he also obtained a Master’s in Business Administration at Universiti Malaysia Sabah. These experiences provided him with a valuable insight into both the practical and theoretical aspects of legal, corporate and business matters.

In 2010, Mortimer obtained a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at Bond University, Australia and was admitted as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of Queensland. He joined our firm as a pupil soon afterwards and has been with us ever since.

Areas of Practice

Mortimer is able to draw on more than a decade of experience in both litigation and conveyancing law. He has acted for numerous government departments and developers in litigation arising from banking and finance matters, insurance claims (particularly personal injuries claims) and other civil litigation matters. He also advises on and drafts personal and corporate loan documentation for major banks in addition to working closely with financial institutions and developers in various conveyancing matters. Mortimer also drafts wills and advises clients on the intricacies of Sabahan estate law.

Interests

Outside of the office, Mortimer spends his free time travelling, watching movies and animation, surfing the internet and keeping himself updated on the latest developments in science and technology.
